CALL FOR ENROLLMENT: BUGO NHS DIVERSIFIED ITS ENROLLMENT CAMPAIGN
Bugo National High School continues its campaign for enrollment among all incoming Grades 7 and 11 by using various media and approaches. The school intensifies the internet use by cascading to various platforms (Facebook, Facebook Messenger, YouTube, TikTok and Instragram).
The
month-long activity is initiated to ensure that incoming learners are
registered for the School Year and help the school better prepare for possible
issues and concerns that may arise, as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 3, s.
2018, or the Basic Education Enrollment policy.
The
school express its appreciation to the general public, especially the parents
of the learners, which continues to believe that Bugo NHS can deliver learning
opportunities through various learning delivery modalities in a safe manner.
BUGO NHS LAUNCHES NEW VIRTUAL SERIES TO SUPPORT LEARNERS
“We recognize the need for ample mental health
support of our learners and personnel alike. We look forward to reach more
learners especially this time and to remind them that Bugo NHS is ready to
assist them during these trying times,” the school principal added.
The Live Webinar series discussed various
topics about mental health. These are the following topics:
1. CYBERBULLYING: MISUSE OF TECHNOLOGY TO
HARASS OTHERS - May 13-14, 2021, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM/ 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
This program aims to understand the aftermath Cyberbullying.
Strategies to stop and prevent cyberbullying were discussed.
2. MODESTY AND CHASTITY: TO STAND FOR AND DO
WHAT IS RIGHT - May 18-19, 2021 - 11:00 AM/ 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
The theme of the episode revolved around
understanding one’s well-being and will delve deeper into increasing
self-awareness to thrive and excel in the new normal and understanding the
psychology behind emotions.
3. OVERCOMING DEPRESSION: STAYING EMOTIONALLY
RESILIENT DURING THE PANDEMIC - May 20-21, 2021 - 11:00 AM/ 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
This program aims to develop a resilient
workforce that can withstand current and future crises and equip the youth with
ways to protect their mental health amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and promote the
well-being.
4.
SOCIAL MEDIA AND MENTAL HEALTH - May 27-28, 2021 - 11:00 AM/ 1:00 - 3:00 PM
It aims to provide discussions on positive
coping mechanisms to combat stress and other challenges to a person’s mental
health brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Guest speakers were varied and they give their
own expertise on the subject matter. The activities were greatly valued by
participants!

Oplan Linis Program (OLP)
The Oplan Linis Program
(OLP) of the Bugo NHS is not new activity of the school. However, its
implementation is always done quarterly facilitated by Grade Level Chairman of
different grade levels in the school. The said activity does not only sustain
the cleanliness and beautification landscape of the school but also prevent the
spreading of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) through sanitation operation of
the teachers’ classroom and offices.
Everyone acted as one in initially sweeping and gathering tons of accumulated garbage in the school and then in seeing to it that no one throws or litter anywhere in the school campus.
Behind the astounding success of the program are the teachers themselves.

REHABILITATING CLASSROOMS: GIVING WAY FOR BETTER LEARNING AMBIANCE

All
these elements were all visible in the ground floor classrooms of Building 2.
Everywhere were very filthy. The aftermath of the typhoons that strides the
campus brings colossal damage to property. Thus, the Araling Panlipunan
Department, headed by Mrs. Bernadtte O. Perpetua, took actions in cleaning the classrooms
with the assistant of the (Bugo) Bureau of Fire Protection and supports from
Sanguniang Kabataan Chairman Nono Perpetua and school administration in the leadership of Roel R. Lamberte, school principal.
The said massive cleaning was realized after the riprap was fully made and functional sponsored by the Local Government Unit (LGU) to protect the school community with the initiatives and leadership of the school principal, Rawel R. Lamberte, the said project was realized.
The riprap served as protection from buildings
from floods and landslides from the hilltop. The activity took 2 hours in
removing the debris and the muddy sediment brought by floods.
Why need to clean?
Cleaning up the mess keeps the schools clean and it is an
integral to the success and well-being of students.
Enhanced learning
When the space is organized, students and teachers alike can
think in a more organized manner, leading to enhanced learning and teaching.
Healthier Teachers
Students are not the only ones who benefit from a cleaner school
environment. Teachers are also less likely to become ill in a clean school.
They'll be better able to focus on their teaching work and less likely to
suffer allergy symptoms too. Healthy, focused teachers do a better job of
teaching and are less likely to miss work.
Other Cleaning Operations
In similar way, various cleaning and beautification activities was done also in the campus. Teachers from different grade levels work hand in hand together with the volunteers to make and sustain the tidiness of the school campus.
School Monitoring: Why Matters?
Every school has a responsibility to monitor the effectiveness of the services being provided for its learners. As a result of the DepED-Division of Cagayan de Oro City takes a statutory duty to assure the quality of services provided and to look continuously for ways of effecting improvement. Thus, Division School Supervisors continue to monitor the school’s performance amidst the pandemic.
The Public School District Supervisors (PSDS) evaluated the performance on the grassroots level of each school by meticulously checking the forms, classroom structures, significant documents on the learning modalities, and assessment of the learners.
For this month of April 2021, Dr. Paraida Orangot, PSDS in East II, and the rest of the Division personnel have
been weekly monitoring the school. The weekly monitoring in the school was
scheduled per year level.
Every week, teachers’ were anticipating their arrival. Thus, their preparedness on their documents was obviously visible.
The inspection was a successful event. The principal congratulates everyone for their dynamic response.
The monitoring and evaluation inform the school's best practices and leadership plays an important role in accountability in school improvement.

Bugo NHS Enjoins the Celebration of the 500th Anniversary of the Battle of Mactan
In honor of the heroism of various
historical figures, the Bugo NHS enjoined in the celebration of the 500th
Anniversary Battle at Mactan last April 27, 2021.
The school conducted a simple
activity as a gesture of commemorating the gallantry and nobleness of our
heroes. The activity depicts what the heroes have done for us to attain the Philippine
independence.
There was a flag-raising ceremony which was done at 8a.m.,the quincentennial D-Day of the victory of Lapu Lapu at the Battle of Mactan.
The activity was spearheaded by the Araling Panlipunan Department in the leadership of Mrs. Bernadette O. Perpetua, Araling Panlipunan Coordinator.
The flag-raising ceremony in school was attended by respective teachers in the skeletal workforce only, as they strictly observe health and safety protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
The teachers from various grade levels posted after the activity.
Meanwhile, personnel under
work-from-home are expected to watch the live streaming school activity.
