BUGO NHS LAUNCHES NEW VIRTUAL SERIES TO SUPPORT LEARNERS

 

        The school principal, Roel R. Lamberte approved the virtual series initiated by the Guidance Office spearheaded by Mrs. Irish Cindy Joy Acain Echem. It is one of the programs in the Guidance Office to provide proactive mental health and psychosocial support services to the learners.

“We recognize the need for ample mental health support of our learners and personnel alike. We look forward to reach more learners especially this time and to remind them that Bugo NHS is ready to assist them during these trying times,” the school principal added.

        The Live Webinar series discussed various topics about mental health. These are the following topics:

1. CYBERBULLYING: MISUSE OF TECHNOLOGY TO HARASS OTHERS - May 13-14, 2021, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM/ 1:00 - 3:00 PM.

This program aims to understand the aftermath Cyberbullying. Strategies to stop and prevent cyberbullying were discussed.

2. MODESTY AND CHASTITY: TO STAND FOR AND DO WHAT IS RIGHT - May 18-19, 2021 - 11:00 AM/ 1:00 - 3:00 PM.

The theme of the episode revolved around understanding one’s well-being and will delve deeper into increasing self-awareness to thrive and excel in the new normal and understanding the psychology behind emotions.

3. OVERCOMING DEPRESSION: STAYING EMOTIONALLY RESILIENT DURING THE PANDEMIC - May 20-21, 2021 - 11:00 AM/ 1:00 - 3:00 PM.

This program aims to develop a resilient workforce that can withstand current and future crises and equip the youth with ways to protect their mental health amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and promote the well-being.

 4. SOCIAL MEDIA AND MENTAL HEALTH - May 27-28, 2021 - 11:00 AM/ 1:00 - 3:00 PM

It aims to provide discussions on positive coping mechanisms to combat stress and other challenges to a person’s mental health brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic.


       Guest speakers were varied and they give their own expertise on the subject matter. The activities were greatly valued by participants!
