BUGO NHS HITS THREE SERIES OF MONITORING AND EVALUATION FROM DIVISION OFFICE PERSONNEL

 

   The regular Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of the Supervisors to our school is part of the continuous management function of our Division.        

    Its objective is to assess progress and achieve results, to spot bottlenecks in the implementation of the various programs and to highlight whether there are any unintended effects (positive or negative) from the various DepEd programs or projects especially in this pandemic.

    The Bugo NHS has been monitored thrice for this January month-Jan. 12, 14, and 19, 2021 respectively. The team spreads to the different classrooms from all grade levels to evaluate teachers, classroom structures and check school data.

Importance of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)

The integrity of the monitoring and evaluation system must be upheld. Important decisions are made based on the information and insights provided by the system. 

The sound judgments are rendered based on the reports and documents prepared by the teachers or principal. When the integrity of the system is compromised, monitoring and evaluation will do more than good.

Like the story of the “The Naked King”, he made the wrong decision because his advisers were not honest and did not provide him with the right information and insights. 

The story of The Naked King illustrates a key point in monitoring and evaluation.  Therefore, honesty is the key.

STARTING THE YEAR RIGHT

    The schools are considered safe havens for learners. Bugo NHS teachers continuously provide mitigating schemes to protect the risks of COVID-19 transmission in our school. These include physical distancing, hand, and respiratory hygiene, cleaning, and disinfection. 

    Moreover, the regular classroom cleaning that the teachers devout give a genuine indicator that they welcome the year right for their direct clientele-the learners and parents!

   

The way to a clean school is a clean classroom at all times. Thus, our school principal, Roel R. Lamberte, is doing his best to “protect” everyone —teachers, personnel, and learners alike — as the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) the situation in the country and across the world continues to escalate.

                  Teachers still beautify their respective classrooms even though the learners are not present.

2021: Year of the Ox

      Relating to the works of our teachers, they remain steadfast in their works. They had already prepared the learning modules before the class resumes, checked previous learning activity sheets, and most likely calculated grades for the learners.

    Similarly in the Chinese Zodiac, the Ox is seen as hardworking, positive, and honest.  Likewise, the dedication of the teachers to their profession had permanently been an inspiration that resulted in the transformation and growth of many individuals.

BUGO NHS FIRST VIRTUAL IN-SET

 The online In-Service Training (INSET) among teachers at of this pandemic is growing exponentially.

Teachers are like students learning in supplemental virtual schools, using a variety of delivery models that include and sometimes combine independent, asynchronous, and synchronous instruction.

In this way, teachers’ knowledge, skills, and abilities on computers are harness as it is a requirement in this technology-mediated environment. Topics were all essentials as they shape and equip the teachers in this new teaching modality.

    The Division of Cagayan de Oro acknowledges the exceptional skills and abilities

student’s learning resources, especially in this pandemic. The said program was virtually done. Teachers per Districts were showcased.

    Moreover, the school principal- Roel L. Lamberte, salutes to tirelessly efforts of his teachers who created the Learning Activity Sheets and created an extra mile in giving the modules to the diverse learners.

Bugo NHS Prides Her Student in Basketball Skills Championship, International Competition

         Indeed, basketball is ingrained in Filipino culture and has been for more than a century. Wherever you go to any street corner of the country-any village, any beach or even a church, you’ve likely to see a basketball jersey.

Congratulations to Celrish Marie D. Solis, the pride of Bugo NHS for being part of the team-U17 Girls Team as it represents the BEST Center Sports of the Philippines. "BEST" is an abbreviation of Basketball Efficiency & Scientific Training, also known as Milo Best Center. It is a scientific basketball training academy based in the Philippines.

            The BEST Center Sports Team is represented by BEST Center Graduates, learners from a different school in the country.

The training is intensive such that the team reaches finals and the team faced Performance Hawaii of Hawaii. The team fights for the Championship.

The BEST U17 Girls garnered the First Runner Up.

The Bugo NHS continues to advocate and promote sports and even encourages the youth to be involved in sports. Positive parenting is the key to a successful learner in the field of their endeavor. Indeed, the continual relationship of a parent(s) and a child or children which include caring, teaching, leading, communicating, and providing for their needs consistently and unconditionally makes him/her a better person.

BUGO NHS PRINCIPAL GIVES PRINTERS AND OTHER OFFICE AND HEALTH PROTECTION SUPPLIES TO ALL TEACHERS USING SCHOOL’S MOOE FUNDS

         The marathon use of printers, both personal or in school, enable the teachers to print their Learning Activity Sheets on time. The teachers have to work overtime to ensure that they had printed enough of those modules for all the students, for all the subjects/classes and sections they handle.

To suffice the needs of the students and parents who weekly receive learning modules, teachers opted to use their personal computers and even dispense their personal money to buy their computer’s ink and bond paper. Thus, many of the teachers are forced to buy printers out of their own salaries or rely on kind donors to provide them with these essential materials.

On the other hand, the school principal sees the struggles of his teachers. Thus, bought everyone a printer, printers’ inks (4 colors), reams of bond paper, and other office supplies they can use to print their learning modules.

Mr. Roel R. Lamberte, the school principal, earned admiration from teachers and netizens alike for the wise decision he made in buying printers, printer's inks, bond papers, and other office supplies for the teachers. He was able to achieve these by using the school’s MOOE fund.

By wisely budgeting the fund, this principal was able to ensure that the teachers won’t have trouble printing the learning modules for the students under their respective classes.

Of course, there’s still a long way to go before the school year ends. That means teachers will near more ink and bond papers in the future, yet it is amazing that he was able to give free materials instead of having to use the teacher’s personal money like many teachers actually do across the Philippines!

Moreover, the principal also gave every teacher a gallon of alcohol, a dozen of facemasks, face shields, and other protective materials.

SCHOOL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR PRESENTED CONTINGENCY PLAN FOR THIS ACADEMIC YEAR

 BUGO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL CONTINGENCY PLAN

S.Y. 2020-2021

 

I. Introduction

Bugo National High School is a newly re-established secondary school. It is a carved out school from the Cagayan de Oro (Bugo) School of Arts and Trades on March 22, 2002. It was the result of the rationalization program of TESDA as mandated by the Republic Act 839 which specializes Vocational and Technical Post-Secondary Program. It was then that the school temporarily became an Annex of Agusan National High School. In July 27, 2009, the school was legislated with Republic Act No. 9943, an act separating the Agusan National High School- Bugo Annex in Barangay Bugo, Cagayan de Oro, province of Misamis Oriental from the Agusan National High School, converting it into an independent national high school to be known as Bugo National High School and appropriating funds thereof.

The school then acquired a one - hectare site situated in Gmelina Street. The unforeseen problem on the road right of way hindered the construction of a new school building. The school administration has incessantly made necessary arrangements, negotiations and linkages to secure the road however, until now this problem remains elusive and unsolved. The site needs a strong force and genuine concern from the government sector to achieve its goals.

For almost thirteen years, Bugo National High School has still been operating inside the campus of Cagayan de Oro (Bugo) School of Arts and Trades (COBSAT). With the increasing number of enrollees every year, the school still continues to dwell in nineteen regular sized classrooms for forty-four sections including the SPED class.  The administration, together with the other stakeholders has continuously initiated immense effort to look for a new school site for the school’s growing population.

Through the untiring support of Congressman Rufus B. Rodriguez, new school buildings will be constructed under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) program of the Department of Education which allocates around Php 53.4 million for a four - storey, thirty - four - classroom building. Congressman Rodriguez led the Groundbreaking and Capsule laying Ceremony last September 4, 2015 with the school principal, Dr. Bienvenido U. Tagolimot Jr. and his assistant, Mr. Wilfredo B. Lomibao, with all teachers and staff of the school.  Present during the said ceremony were the Officer-in-Charge of the construction from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Bugo Barangay Officials headed by Bugo Barangay Chairman, Jesus S. Morial and GPTA officers headed by Engr. Alnie Emano. 

Another Groundbreaking and Capsule laying Ceremony for additional forty-six classroom building with ramp worth Php 67 million pesos is allotted for the school construction under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) program of the Department of Education last October 6, 2015 through the effort made by City Mayor, Hon. Oscar Moreno. A number of DepEd officials spearheaded by Schools Division Superintendent, Elena M. Borcillo, CID Chief, Mary Ann Allera and Education Supervisors. City Government officials, DPWH officials, Bugo Barangay officials, GPTA officers, parents and students witnessed the event.

The school administration, faculty, parents, students and stakeholders are hopeful that these seventy - eight classrooms will answer the long standing problem on the shortage and congested classroom of the growing number of population of the school.

 

II. Purpose and Aims

          The main purpose of creating this implementation plan is to capacitate teachers, personnel, and learners in the prevention and mitigation in times of disaster in order to eradicate possible damage to properties and loss of lives.

          Our SDRRMT aims to:

1.   Protect learners, personnel, and educational investments, and ensure learning continuity in times of disasters.

2.   Create a school and community-based disaster preparedness plan that leads to volunteerism among school administration and personnel, stakeholders, NGO’s and other community organization.

3.   Implement the SDRRM Plans
